American 18-inch Terrestrial Floor Globe
Circa 1930s; Rand McNally & Company, Chicago. The terrestrial globe
surmounted by a brass hour circle, within a metal calibrated meridian,
raised on an Art Deco walnut stand with painted ebonized highlights, the
horizon band with ebonized edge above figured tropical wood decorated
frieze, rotating 360 degrees on a bulbous wooden meridian holder resting
on a medial cross stretcher, each of the four tapered downswept legs headed
by a wood roundel and ending in cross-hatch decorated shaped ebonized
feet.
